Destinies is a lightweight thematic game of medieval fantasy, and exploration. This popular game is a competitive, story-driven game of adventure that mixes an app with a board game.

Destines is a Board Game Bandit hot seller set for a new restock later this month!

The Destinies system (with Destinies being the first game in the series) offers a complete story-driven, app-supported, RPG-like game experience, without the requirement for a game master. Each scenario portrays a part of a vivid world, of dark stories, epic NPCs and mysteries to solve. Each player has the role of a hero on a journey to fulfill their destiny. Each destiny is a final objective of the character and has a minimum two, different ways to victory, consisting of branching series of quests. Players compete to push the world towards their own destiny.

The game app and the Scan&Play technology offers players a story-driven experience of epic events, adventures, and an constantly-changing game world. Each turn players find new parts of the world represented on tiles, explore them and choose one point of interest to visit. Where they learn more about the story and make choices on how they want to interact with people, creatures or situations found there. The consequences of each decision are meaningful and often change the world forever.

Players are secretly given roles that set their allegiance to Good or Evil. Players then debate, reason, and lie as they choose who to send on Quests—knowing that if just one minion of Mordred joins, the Quest may fail. Quest offers 25 different characters and multiple ways to play the base game.

3. Furnace

Furnace Board Game Gameplay

Number of Players 2-4
Playtime 30-60 Min
Suggested Ages 12+
Designer(s) Ivan Lashin
Publisher Arcane Wonders

This new game for 2-4 players is set to release later this month. Furnace is an engine-building Eurogame where players play the roles of 19th-century capitalists building their industrial corporations and trying to make as much money as possible by buying companies, extracting resources, and processing them in the best combinations they can.

Players begin the game with a start-up card, as well as the resources shown at the top of that card, and 4 colored discs valued 1-4.

The game is played over 4 rounds, each consisting of 2 phases: Auction and Production. In the auction, 6-8 company cards are laid out with their basic sides up. Players take turns placing one of their discs on one of the cards, but you can’t put a disc on a card if a disc of the same value or color is already placed.

When all discs are played, the cards are resolved from left to right. The player who placed the highest-valued disc claims this card, but first those with a lower-valued disc on this card will get compensation, either the resources shown multiplied by the value of their disc or a processing ability (exchange X for Y) up to as many times as the value of their disc.

When all cards have been claimed or discarded, players begin the production phase, using their cards. Each company card has 1 action — production or processing — on the basic side and 2 actions on the upgraded side. In the production phase, players can use each of their cards once to earn resources, process resources into other resources or money, and upgrade cards.

At the end of 4 rounds, the player with the most money wins.

Furnace includes capitalist cards that have unique effects, and if you wish, you can choose to deal one to each player at the beginning of the game. For an additional challenge, you can have players create a "production chain", with newly acquired company cards being placed somewhere in that chain and locked in position for the entirety of the game.
