What's Hot: Top Board Games of February 2022

February is upon us! With it being the month of St. Valentine, it may come as no surprise that this month's hottest five board games features more than one cooperative game. What better way to express your undying love for someone than rescuing them from a horde of goblins, or exploring an endless world on the open seas? Without further ado, here's our list of the Top 5 Board Games of February 2022!

5. HeroQuest

If you grew up in the '90's then this release may be one you've been waiting for. Originally released in 1989 as a more accessible take on the uber-popular Dungeons & Dragons, HeroQuest is a dungeon-crawler adventure game for 2-5 players. One player takes on the role of the game master, revealing sections of the maze-like dungeon as players wander through it. The other players take on one of four characters; the wizard, dwarf, elf, or barbarian. Working together, they must venture into the dungeons to complete epic quests.

This newest version of the game was originally offered on Hasbro Pulse in cooperation with Avalon Hill. The retail edition of the game hits shelves in February with much anticipation. HeroQuest has been updated in a number of ways with this new release. The quest and rule books have been updated to improve upon some of the challenges in the original ruleset. The most noticeable change comes in the visual design of the game, with new player sculpts, new interpretations of characters, as well as new designs for the furniture and monsters featured in the game.

The game centers around identifying fiercely powerful card synergies. Players act as the leaders of their post-apocalyptic group of survivors, as they fight to protect their three camps from a vicious rival tribe. The aim of the game is simple, if your camps are destroyed first you lose.

Water is the central resource in the game. Players spend it to play various people and event cards, using the abilities of those cards to protect your camps and build up powerful effects. Manage your cards and water resources wisely to prevail.
